A Disciple Whom Jesus Loved

“Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved” (John 13:23).
Does Jesus not love all His disciples? Does He not love all people, whether His disciples or not? Yes, and yes, but even as we have different kinds of relationships with people, so does the Lord Jesus.
Yes, He loves the world, but He has a special love for His disciples. Yes, He loves all His disciples, but while on earth, He was close friends with twelve men, and of those twelve, He was closer to Peter, James, and John, and of those three, Jesus was closest to John.
Yet, none of the other disciples appeared to be jealous over it.
Likewise, enjoy your friends, and enjoy those closer to you without guilt, and let others of your friends enjoy other friends of theirs.
