Who Sinned to Bring on Suffering?

Jesus and His disciples passed by a man born blind. The disciples wanted to know who sinned, the man or his parents, that he should be born blind. “Jesus answered, ‘Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him'” (John 9:3).
I would have answered that Adam’s sin brought death and suffering into the world, but Jesus did not give that answer. He saw it as an opportunity to reveal the works of God.
How do you look at suffering? Instead of trying to give a theological answer, that is, as a mental challenge, see what you can do for the person.
