Short Refutations

The enemies of Jesus presented Him with an adulterous woman and they wanted to know what He thought should be done with her. He bent down and wrote on the ground, ignoring them. However, “When they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, ‘He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first'” (John 8:7).
They should have been content with His silence, because when He spoke, as was often the case, with a simple statement or question, He silenced His enemies.
We like to give drawn out answers, but seek to do what Jesus did. Provide as short and as simple an answer as you can create and see what effect those shorter answers have.
