If You Ask, Listen to and Consider the Answer

The critics of Jesus questioned John the baptizer, as Jesus Himself said, “You have sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth” (John 5:33).
Yet, they did not like what they heard, leading them to reject John and his testimony. Why then did they ask him, if they already had their beliefs in place?
Does that not frustrate you when someone questions you, then argues with you about your answer? Do you ever do that to people?
Be careful, because such an attitude may lead you to have the attitude of the critics of John and Jesus, and you know what those critics did to those two.
If you ask a question, let it truly be to learn something, and when you hear the answer, consider it instead of rejecting it outright.
Do you believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God? If so, consider everything He said and accept Him, and do not reject Him as His persecutors did.
