It Is Hard to Understand People

One of the sons of David, Adonijah, saw an opportunity to capture the kingdom for himself, and look who followed him, “Then he conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah and with Abiathar the priest, and they followed and helped Adonijah” (1 Kings 1:7).
What were Joab and Abiathar thinking? They knew David and that God approved of him and what decisions he made as king. They also knew that David had not appointed Adonijah as king. They saw the rebellion of Absalom and how it ended.
I want to figure out why they did what they did, but often we just cannot understand human behavior, and we get frustrated if we continue to try to explain the unexplainable.
However, God knows all things and He will deal with all of us according to His immense wisdom.
