Troubles for David Begin

The Lord told David that for his sin with Bathsheba and against her husband, the sword and other troubles would enter David’s life. Second Samuel 13 shows the beginnings of those troubles.
One of his sons raped one of his daughters (2 Samuel 13:9–14), which led to the killing of that son by another one of David’s sons.
Without considering any of the other troubles he experienced, this was enough. He reaped the consequences of his sin, but our heart also goes out to him for the troubles he had.
Let us learn to remain true to the teachings and commandments of the Lord so that we do not reap the consequences of a life of rebellion.
