Is It All About Self or the Lord?

When Saul learned that someone had discovered the location of David, do you think Saul was all wrapped up in the Lord or in himself?
He said to his servants, “Hear now, you Benjamites! Will the son of Jesse give every one of you fields and vineyards, and make you all captains of thousands and captains of hundreds? All of you have conspired against me, and there is no one who reveals to me that my son has made a covenant with the son of Jesse; and there is not one of you who is sorry for me or reveals to me that my son has stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as it is this day” (1 Samuel 22:6–8).
Saul was a grown man, right? Did he sound like one to you? What was most important to him?
Now, listen to the words that you speak during the rest of the day and see what consumes your thinking.
