If Jesus Were a Prophet

When a woman went to the home of where Jesus was having a meal, and washed and anointed His feet, the host to himself criticized Jesus for allowing her to touch Him, “Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke to himself, saying, ‘This Man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is who is touching Him, for she is a sinner'” (Luke 7:39).
The Pharisee did well to show hospitality to Jesus, but did not do so well by rejecting the woman.
The Pharisee did well by concluding that Jesus was a prophet, but did not do so well by concluding that meant Jesus should have nothing to do with sinners.
The woman did well by showing her love for Jesus, and by not letting the self-righteous Pharisee turn her off to the Lord.
Are you the Pharisee or the woman?
