The Crossing of the Jordan

The priests bearing the Ark of the Covenant stood in the middle of the Jordan River, but with the water gone, and Israel hurried across quickly.
“Then it came to pass, when all the people had completely crossed over, that the ark of the LORD and the priests crossed over in the presence of the people.” Also, forty-thousand soldiers from the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh crossed in front of Israel, just as they had promised to do (Joshua 4:11-13).
“On that day the LORD exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they had feared Moses, all the days of his life” (Joshua 4:14).
When Israel crossed the Jordan River that marked a very significant event in the history of Israel, and truly in the history of the world, for God was keeping His promise to give Israel the Land of Canaan, which would open the gate for the Christ to enter earth and bless all the families of the earth.
Do not ignore the history of Israel in the Bible, for without it, we would have no hope.
