What the Soldiers Saw in Jesus

When the Roman soldiers crucified Jesus, they, “…divided His garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: ‘They divided My garments among them, and for My clothing they cast lots'” (Matthew 27:35).
To those men, they only saw clothing from a popular Jew, and so the Romans divided His garments, and the other Gospel Accounts tell us that the Romans gambled for His tunic, because it had been sown without seam.
You see the same thing happening today when people go to an auction to possess something from a celebrity. Somehow that item becomes more valuable because a well-known person owned it.
What do you see in Jesus? Would you have liked part of His clothing? Or do you want His heart?
