Priests Were Doctors

It is well-known that the levitical priests offered sacrifices, but what is not so well-known is that they examined people who had various skin problems, because the priests had to look for leprosy, “And if leprosy breaks out all over the skin, and the leprosy covers all the skin of the one who has the sore, from his head to his foot, wherever the priest looks, then the priest shall consider…” (Leviticus 13:12-17).
Christians are priests, and while we minister to the body, our primary concern is to minister to the soul, because we are doctors of the soul, but sometimes we have to help someone with the things of this world before they will let us help them with the things of the soul.
