Fearing the People

The chief priests, the scribes, and the elders conspired to take Jesus by trickery and kill Him, “But they said, ‘Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar among the people'” (Matthew 26:5).
What? Hey, if Jesus was evil, do the right thing, whether it upset the crowd or not! Yet, we know that these men envied Jesus, wishing that they had the multitudes following them as He did.
They were not honest and had to use error to catch Jesus, which should have alerted their consciences that they sought to do evil and not righteousness.
Be honest in all your dealings.
