When the Lord Is with You

The Lord was with Joseph, although at times he may not have been able to see that, and at other times, he may have concluded that the Lord was.
Joseph’s brothers hated him and got rid of him by selling him to Midianites who then sold him into Egyptian slavery, but there Joseph did well for his master, the captain of the guard, “The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian” (Genesis 39:2).
Joseph did well with his father, but not with his own brothers. Joseph did well with his new master, Potiphar, but not with Potiphar’s wife. Joseph ended up in prison, but even there, the Lord was with Joseph and he succeeded.
Joseph honored the Lord and the Lord honored Joseph.
