God Knows All Families

Genesis 36 shows the descendants of Esau, the brother of Jacob and son of Isaac. When I read things like this, instead of merely seeing lists of unpronounceable names, I see that God knows every person who has lived on earth, and He knows all their family connections. You can also see that God blessed the descendants of Abraham as promised, which means that whatever God has promised us, He will do, just as He did for generations past.
Reading lists of names in the Bible reveals interesting discoveries also. In Genesis 36:15-43 you will discover, “These were the sons of Zibeon: both Ajah and Anah. This was the Anah who found the water in the wilderness as he pastured the donkeys of his father Zibeon…Now these were the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the children of Israel…And when Husham died, Hadad the son of Bedad, who attacked Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his place…These were the chiefs of Edom, according to their dwelling places in the land of their possession. Esau was the father of the Edomites” (Genesis 36:15-43).
I always ask myself why that information is in the Bible, and believing that it is inspired by the Holy Spirit and preserved for our edification, I know that there is a purpose for me knowing this information. I may not always see it initially, but I keep thinking and in time I discover something.
