Do Not Abuse People's Kindness

If you live honorably, people will want to honor you for that, but we have to resist the temptation to take advantage of those who honor us.
For example, Abraham lived honorably among the Canaanites, and when his wife died, they wanted to give him a burial place for her, but he said, “If it is your wish that I bury my dead out of my sight, hear me, and meet with Ephron the son of Zohar for me, that he may give me the cave of Machpelah which he has, which is at the end of his field. Let him give it to me at the full price, as property for a burial place among you” (Genesis 23:8-9).
They wanted to give him a place of burial for free, but knowing Abraham, I believe he did not want them to think he lived as he did to get favors from people. Therefore, he sought to pay the full price for it, and for that people loved him, and he was the friend of God.
