The Deliberation of Joseph

Joseph did not act out of haste when he learned of Mary’s pregnancy, but deliberated on his actions, thinking about putting her away, “But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins'” (Matthew 1:20-21).
Good thing Joseph did not act hastily. Let us learn to do as he did, for we never know what might present itself to us next. That is not a reason for never acting, but it is encouragement for thinking before acting.
He then learned that his wife would bring the Savior of mankind into the world.
