Ezekiel 40 on November 28, AD 2010

After twenty-five years of Babylonian captivity the Lord took Ezekiel to a high mountain in the land of Israel and showed him a city, where he met a bronze-like man with measuring devices, and the man said to the prophet, “Son of man, look with your eyes and hear with your ears, and fix your mind on everything I show you; for you were brought here so that I might show them to you. Declare to the house of Israel everything you see” (Ezekiel 40:4).
To see what the prophet saw, you will also have to fix your mind to keep it from wandering, but try picture in your mind all the measurements and sights.
Of the measurements, Ezekiel wrote, “Now there was a wall all around the outside of the temple. In the man’s hand was a measuring rod six cubits long, each being a cubit and a handbreadth; and he measured the width of the wall structure, one rod; and the height, one rod” (Ezekiel 40:5).
