Do Not Pray

The Lord told Jeremiah to stop doing something for his people, because the Lord would no longer respond to it, “Then the LORD said to me, ‘Do not pray for this people, for their good. When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I will not accept them. But I will consume them by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence'” (Jeremiah 14:11-12).
The people of Judah and Jerusalem had gotten so bad that God did not even want to hear prayers for them anymore. When the God who is full of compassion, grace, mercy, and forgiveness, says do not pray for someone, you know that person, or people, have gone so far into sin that they will not repent.
Let that never be said about us.
