The Captivating Look of the Shulamite

Most men will know what Solomon meant when he said to the Shulamite,
Turn your eyes away from me,
For they have overcome me.
(Song 6:5)
He was taken in completely just by the way she looked at him. Therefore, he tells her to look away, not because he meant that literally, but it was as though he could not believe how captivating she was. It was as though the experience was too much for him!
Then he spoke of how she looked to him,
Your hair is like a flock of goats
Going down from Gilead.
Your teeth are like a flock of sheep
Which have come up from the washing;
Every one bears twins,
And none is barren among them.
Like a piece of pomegranate
Are your temples behind your veil.
(Song 6:5-7)
To him, she was perfect looking, because of his inward love for her and because of her inward love for him, which he saw when her eyes looked at him.
