Use the Old Testament

Unfortunately, many Christians believe that they do not have to read or listen to instruction from the Old Testament. Listen, friends, it is the word of God, and we always do well to know God’s word. In First Corinthians 10, Paul spoke of Old Testament events and said, “Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted” (1 Corinthians 10:6).
The Holy Spirit preserved the Old Testament for Christians that we might read it and learn that we should not lust after evil things as Israel did and God punished them. Is that a good reason for reading the Old Testament?
