Finding Rest for Your Troubled Soul

Troubles can overwhelm us. Death can be right on our heels. What shall we do when that happens? The psalmist shows what he did,
The pains of death surrounded me,
And the pangs of Sheol laid hold of me;
I found trouble and sorrow.
Then I called upon the name of the LORD…
(Psalm 116:3, 4)
The Lord heard the anguished cry of the psalmist and helped him (Psalm 116:5, 6).
Then the psalmist could speak to himself,
Return to your rest, O my soul,
For the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.
(Psalms 116:7)
Do you want to be able to say that to your troubled soul? Do what the psalmist did and you shall be able.
