When You Face Death

Although we will all die, we prefer not to die before we reach old age. Yet, sometimes we enter the valley of the shadow of death early in life. When that happens, how shall we pray to God about it?
Listen to what Heman wrote in Psalm 88,
Will You work wonders for the dead?
Shall the dead arise and praise You?
Shall Your lovingkindness be declared in the grave?
Or Your faithfulness in the place of destruction?
Shall Your wonders be known in the dark?
And Your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?
(Psalms 88:10-12)
Heman the Ezrahite wanted to praise God on the earth, yet, if Heman died, how could that happen? Therefore, he sought to avoid death, not for his own pleasure, but for the pleasure of God. Appeal to God in the same way.
