Capability Means Nothing Without Obedience to God

Asaph spoke of the tribe of Ephraim’s ability to fight in war, but they lost in the day of battle and the psalmist reveals why,
The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows,
Turned back in the day of battle.
They did not keep the covenant of God;
They refused to walk in His law,
And forgot His works
And His wonders that He had shown them.
(Psalms 78:9-11)
Ephraim had what was necessary to win a battle; they were fully armed. However, what they had in carnal weapons, they did not have in spiritual weapons, because they would not follow the Lord.
Look at yourself and your life. Have you stockpiled your spiritual weapons or have you concentrated upon matters of the flesh?
