Can Anything Good Come Out of Suffering?

Why do we have to suffer? Can suffering do anything good for us? Listen to what Paul said can come from our troubles.
After stating that we have peace with God through faith in Jesus Christ and that such causes us to rejoice in hope of experiencing the glory of God, Paul added, “And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope” (Romans 5:3-4).
We are excited about partaking in God’s glory, but we can also be excited about partaking in tribulations because they produce perseverance or steadfastness or patience in us. Do you need perseverance? Well, troubles help you to develop it.
Perseverance also helps build character. Do you need that? It begins with experiencing various forms of suffering.
Character in turn builds hope in our hearts. Do you not need hope to be with you until that time that you enter heaven? Again, it is the struggles of life that begin the process that eventually leads to having hope.
