Men Forbid

Yesterday, we noted in Acts 16:6 that the Holy Spirit prohibited Paul’s evangelistic team from preaching in Asia. The team had to obey the Holy Spirit. Sometimes men try to prohibit evangelists from preaching, but in that case, we cannot obey, which means we have to be willing to pay the price for such disobedience, “Then the multitude rose up together against them; and the magistrates tore off their clothes and commanded them to be beaten with rods. And when they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, commanding the jailer to keep them securely. Having received such a charge, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks” (Acts 16:22-24).
The Lord blesses us for obeying Him, and men curse us for disobeying them. We have to make a choice whom we will obey, men or the Lord.
