God's Enemies Played into His Hand

The Jewish Council threatened the apostles, commanding them to cease preaching and teaching the name of Jesus. The apostles went back to the church and they all prayed for boldness. They confessed the boldness of God’s enemies, but that it all fell into God’s plan, “For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done” (Acts 4:27-28).
The preachers and the church knew what the Roman and Jewish leaders were capable of doing, and the brethren knew that if they did not heed the command to cease preaching and teaching the name of Jesus, they too could suffer horribly at the hands of their enemies. By their acknowledgement in verses 27 and 28, they showed they realized all this, but they would still go on heeding the command of the Lord to spread His word everywhere.
They knew that in reality this all fit into God’s plan. When He made His plan to save the world, He knew fully all the obstacles along the way and compensated for them. Nothing foiled God’s plan for you.
