Always Thinking of Others

The world sometimes honors those who selflessly serve others, and sometimes the world tells selfless servants to stop thinking of others and to think of themselves. How did Jesus live? Did He seek His own needs? Yes, He had to in order to live. However, that was not the theme of His life. The theme of His life was thinking about others. Look at Him as He hung on the cross, “When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, ‘Woman, behold your son!’ Then He said to the disciple, ‘Behold your mother!’ And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home” (John 19:26, 27).
Jesus thought of the needs of both His mother and His disciple. Moreover, by what He said He taught them that they were family.
Do you see anything wrong with Jesus having such concerns? After He fulfilled their needs, He then said that He was thirsty. Why can we not live the same way?
