Encourage Those Who Work for the Lord

King Cyrus of Persia made a decree that the Jews who so desired could return Jerusalem and rebuild the house of the Lord. Certain men arose who volunteered for this awesome work, and those who stayed behind supported those who went, “And all those who were around them encouraged them with articles of silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with precious things, besides all that was willingly offered” (Ezra 1:6).
They did not encourage them with words alone, but with whatever they needed for the journey and for the work in Jerusalem.
Encouraging words have incredible power, but sometimes people need more than words. Whatever they need, if you can supply it, do so.
