Do Not Forbid Good Works

Mary, the sister of Martha and Lazarus, anointed the feet of Jesus with expensive oil, but Judas objected, saying that the oil could have been sold and the proceeds given to the poor. However, Jesus said, “Let her alone; she has kept this for the day of My burial” (John 12:7).
Mary may not have even realized fully what she did that day, but she did know that she did a good work for the Son of God. How can anyone forbid that, unless he had ulterior motives, such as Judas had (He wanted to keep the money for himself)?
If you see a good work, why stop it? If you want to stop it, look inside your heart and figure out your motives.
