Why Persecute the Truth-Teller?

Jesus spoke the truth, but He knew how people reacted to that, in the following case, the Jews, “But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this” (John 8:40).
The Jews claimed Abraham as their father, but Jesus had communication with God that not even the great patriarch Abraham had. They never would have thought of killing Abraham, yet, they were thinking of doing that to someone far greater than Abraham!
What do you think of the truth that Jesus has spoken? Do you use it in your life or do you fight against it?
