Honored to Do Something for David

Watching David’s men do anything for him brings delight to the soul. One of those men was Joab, David’s nephew. How did Joab become the leader of David’s armies? Here is the incident that led to that, “Now David said, ‘Whoever attacks the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain.’ And Joab the son of Zeruiah went up first, and became chief” (1 Chronicles 11:6).
Joab wanted to do things for his uncle David, but Joab obviously wanted to be the leader of the army as well.
David typifies the Christ. The Bible often uses David as a symbol of the Christ. Therefore, Jesus is our David. What are we willing to do for Him?
