An Unplanned Miracle

Jesus went to a wedding. While there the wine ran out. His mother hinted that He should do something about it. He stated His reluctance to do something, but He did nevertheless.
John wrote that there were six empty stone waterpots there of either twenty or thirty gallons. “Jesus said to [the servants], ‘Fill the waterpots with water.’ And they filled them up to the brim” (John 2:6, 7).
Notice that Jesus did not touch anything. He did not add anything to the water to make it wine. These servants were not in cahoots with Him and so they did not sneak in wine.
“And He said to them, ‘Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.’ And they took it” (John 2:8). They just followed instructions and took part in something of which they had no idea.
Likewise, we may not always understand what the Lord has in store for us to do, but just follow His instructions in the word and you will see wonderful things happen.
