Continuing the Work

When Israel entered the Land of Canaan, the Lord wanted them to exterminate all the inhabitants of the land. A few hundred years later, Israel had not completed the job, but David continued the work that the Lord wanted done, “And David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites. For those nations were the inhabitants of the land from of old, as you go to Shur, even as far as the land of Egypt” (1 Samuel 27:8).
David did what the Lord wanted done, and so the Lord considered David a man after God’s own heart. David thought as God did. Therefore, David did not let centuries of neglect keep him from fulfilling the Lord’s wishes.
Have you seen something that the church has neglected for a long time. Why not do what the Lord wants done?
