The Lord Gives Us Chances

Jesus spoke a parable of a man whose fig tree bore no fruit, and he told the keeper of the vineyard to cut down the tree. However, the keeper of the vineyard replied, “Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down'” (Luke 13:8-9).
The Lord expects fruit from our lives, but if He finds no fruit at the present, He allows us time to demonstrate that we can bear fruit. However, even as a tree cannot bear fruit unless it takes in nutrition, so it is with us. We have to feed our souls the word of God, for then the word of God will come out of our lives.
What do you feed your soul daily?
