The Wisdom of a Father

A father had to consider his young daughter who made a vow while still living at home on whether he thought she should keep her vow or not, “If a woman makes a vow to the LORD, and binds herself by some agreement while in her father’s house in her youth,” then the father could either release her from that vow or remain silent and let her keep the vow (Numbers 30:3-5).
Israelites fathers had to give as much attention to their daughters as to their sons. Daughters needed–and still need–training and instruction as much as sons.
Do you value sons more than daughters or daughters more than sons? Before God we all stand equal. Let us treat both with the highest value.
