Mark wrote, “Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse” (Mark 5:25-26).
Physicians are of great value, but they are not gods. They charge large sums of money and we pay it, because we know they can help us. However, let us not forget that the Lord is the Great Physician and He provides us with all the physicians of the earth.
First Timothy 2:1-4 says that we should give thanks for all men, and Paul listed some for whom we should give thanks. I want to add to that list physicians. I have many doctors because I had a kidney transplant in 1998. What a blessing! Therefore, I give thanks for what God has done for me through them, but I also pray (in harmony with Paul’s instructions), that I can help the physicians spiritually, for they are sinners like the rest of us.
Can you also give thanks for them, and pray for their salvation?
