True and Sincere, But Reluctant Worship

A man possessed with many demons met Jesus. However, “When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped Him. And he cried out with a loud voice and said, ‘What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God that You do not torment me'” (Mark 5:6-7).
The demon-possessed man worshiped Jesus, but the man, or truly the demon inside, questioned what he had to do with Jesus, that is, what fellowship could they have.
This is interesting because the demon worshiped Jesus, and it seems to have been done in truth and in spirit, but it was not done with admiration. That might make us question whether the worship was in spirit, but I think it was because the demon knew Jesus and who He was. The demon knew that Jesus had the power to torment demons. The demon sincerely recognized the power and authority of Jesus, but the demon did not love Jesus.
Check your heart when you worship the Lord. Yes, be sure you worship according to the truth. Also, be sure that you worship in your spirit with a heart of love and admiration for Him.
