Devotion or Curiosity?

After the Jews arrested Jesus, Peter did this, “But Peter followed Him at a distance to the high priest’s courtyard. And he went in and sat with the servants to see the end” (Matthew 26:58).
Peter stayed close enough that he could see Jesus, but not close enough to be involved with Jesus. He hid in the crowd, curious to see what would happen, but not out of the crowd to stand with Jesus to experience what would happen.
Peter had been a devoted follower of Jesus, and later Peter would rededicate himself to follow Jesus again, but there was this moment, where he simply wanted to watch.
Why am I following Jesus?
