Whom Do We Impress in Prayer?

Although there are occasions to pray before others, we should not do so to impress them with our high-sounding religious verbiage. Therefore, we should spend a great deal of time praying in secret, as Jesus taught, “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly” (Matthew 6:6).
Pray without ceasing, pray whenever you are alone, pray about the issues of your life and the lives of others, especially the life of the church.
If you pray as Jesus taught, the Father in heaven will bless your prayers by things that will be obvious to all people.
