Remember Your Past Position

The church at Ephesus had done well for many years, but something happened and they left their first love. Therefore, Jesus said to them through John, “Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place–unless you repent” (Revelation 2:5).
Remembering where we used to be can help us to be where we need to be. Remembering that we were once outside of Christ, can make us grow more in Christ. Remembering our past zeal and seeing that we have slacked, can make us revive that past fire.
Sometimes we have to do what the Ephesian Church needed to do, repent and do what we once did when our zeal for the Lord burned hot.
Have you grown since becoming Christian or have you tapered off in your zeal?
