Walking in Truth

To see someone you have taught walking in the truth does something to your spirit, even as John wrote, “For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth” (3 John 1:3-4).
John prayed that Gaius would prosper in all things and be in health just as his soul prospered. To explain what it means that the soul of Gaius prospered, John wrote the words of verses 3 and 4. The truth was in Gaius and he walked in the truth. John could think of no greater joy that he might hear about people than to hear that the people he had taught were walking in the truth.
For John to say that he himself had to be a spiritual man. Look at yourself today and see what gives you great joy among people? Is it something spiritual or something worldly?
