Rage and Fury

Do not let rage and fury enter your heart or you will do things you never thought you could possibly do. Use Nebuchadnezzar as an example. He set up an image that he wanted everyone to worship. When some did not, anger filled his heart, “Then Nebuchadnezzar, in rage and fury, gave the command to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego…Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying to them, ‘Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the gold image which I have set up?…if you do not worship, you shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. And who is the god who will deliver you from my hands?'” (Daniel 3:13-15).
Look at what his anger led him to believe and to do. His rage and fury led him to:
1. Persecute some of his most loyal and wise subjects
2. Be ready to kill men who challenged his vanity
3. Believe that he was more powerful than God
Do you think you could do those things? You might, if you let rage and fury enter your heart.
