Use Patience to Make Yourself Better

Rather than being irritated by the many trials that come at us and wishing that life was easier, James said we should count it all joy, because those trials come to test our faith and the testing of our faith produces patience in us. Then he said, “But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing” (James 1:4).
Trying to wish trials away is like trying to wish a storm away. It does not work. Therefore, make the best of the situation. Look at it this way. Do you need to be more patient? I have only known one Christian in my 29 plus years of preaching who said that she did not need more patience. Ironically, she was more impatient than almost anyone I have ever known.
So, if you need patience, why not use the many and various trials that come into your life to develop you into a patient Christian? Do not fight those trials, of whatever sort they may be, but use them.
