Witnesses to Our Instruction

When someone teaches us, does anyone else hear what we learned? Let me demonstrate what I mean. When you read Paul’s letter to Philemon, it sounds just like that, a letter from Paul to Philemon. However, in verse 1, Paul said the letter came from both him and Timothy. Then in verse 2, Paul showed who also received the letter, “…to the beloved Apphia, Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church in your house…” (Philemon 1:2).
Apphia was probably Philemon’s wife and Archippus his son. They heard the contents of the letter to Philemon, hearing what Paul told him to do. Moreover, the whole church that meant in his home, heard what Paul told Philemon to do.
What then what Philemon do? What would you do, if several people heard you receive instructions on how to handle a situation?
