It is Time to Soar

gannet6.jpgIn the commercial for LG televisions, called “Isle of Flightless Birds,” Northern Gannets stand on a rocky crag, when a plane flies overhead.
One of the birds, seeing the wonderful sight, tests his wings, moves toward the cliff, and seeks to emulate what he has seen.
Another Gannet shakes his head as the bird falls and disappears from sight. Seconds later, the bird overcomes his fear and soars into the blue as his artificial barriers fall lamely to the ground below.
Humanity searches for hope relentlessly. In every new product or fad, we think that the answer has finally arrived.
Alcohol, the pleasures of the flesh and psychotropic drugs fill man’s hearts in their quest for hope. Yet, they lead us only to deeper despair and destruction (Ecclesiastes 2:1-9; 1 Peter 5:8).
Hopelessness is our lot as our ineffectual wings refuse to lift us to the skies. Our purpose stymied, deep sadness falls upon us and our days grow dark and barren.
Nevertheless, there is hope. God approached an unimaginable darkness and shattered it by uttering the words, “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3. NKJV).
God’s hands sped through creation and we had all we could ever dream of having. However, we allowed the grand liar to bring his despair into the pristine world and Satan’s genocidal campaign began. The mind cannot conceive of the numbers that have fallen.
However, we can stop the slaughter and soar like eagles. We can lose our bonds. We are beautiful, majestic examples of God’s handiwork. Nothing can stop us because we have Christ as our Lord and Guide (Philippians 4:13; Romans 8:28-31).
Would the Northern Gannets lift their wings and take flight or hold to their superstitions and remain grounded? Would they dream or live?
We will accept Christ and rise above the muck of this world (Acts 2:36-37) or we will fall with Satan and be chained to his nightmare world, never to live the dream. Time will not wait for our answer (James 4:14; 2 Corinthians 6:2).
“But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
Have Satan’s filth washed off today and soar to the heavens. The time is now!
