Do You Have Something to Brag About?

Paul showed that if anyone wants to go by the flesh to prove that he or she is something, Paul could stay a step ahead, “though I also might have confidence in the flesh. If anyone else thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I more so: circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee; concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless” (Philippians 3:4-6).
Yet, he went on to say that he tossed all those things away. Those things meant nothing as long as Paul was not a Christian. Whatever we can brag about means nothing if we do not follow the Lord Jesus Christ with total devotion. If we follow Christ that does not mean we can then brag about our things. No, we like Paul cast those things behind our backs and put Jesus in our hearts.
