When People Fight Against One Other

Isaiah 19 begins by declaring an oracle against Egypt because the Lord would enter Egypt, but not to bless it. The heart of Egypt would melt. Then the Lord proclaimed,
“I will set Egyptians against Egyptians;
Everyone will fight against his brother,
And everyone against his neighbor,
City against city, kingdom against kingdom.”
(Isaiah 19:2)
People within a nation, family, or organization fighting each other rather than their common enemy shows that something is wrong within that group (Judges 7:22; 1 Samuel 14:20; 2 Chronicles 20:23; Matthew 10:21, 36).
Eventually a house divided against itself will fall. That happened to Egypt and it never has regained its former glory. The Lord was the One who caused the disruption. Therefore, the nation needed to repent.
Returning to the Lord reveals the key for people to stop fighting against one another. Have you turned to Him?
