Examine Yourself

The Corinthian Church had questioned Paul’s apostleship, as though they wanted to see whether he was qualified to be an apostle, but then he said to them, “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?–unless indeed you are disqualified. But I trust that you will know that we are not disqualified” (2 Corinthians 13:5-6).
It is better if we find a problem with ourselves before we go to the doctor, because early detection means we can stop a problem before it gets worse.
As that holds true for the body, it also holds true for the spirit. Check yourself daily to see whether you still abide in the faith and whether Jesus Christ dwells in you. If we do not live in the faith and Jesus does not live in us, then regardless of the criticisms we make of others, we will be disqualified.
