Solomon Was a Preacher First

Solomon began the Book of Ecclesiastes like this, “The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem” (Ecclesiastes 1:1).
Solomon saw himself first as a preacher, second as the son of David, third as the king in Jerusalem. Truly, we know him more as a preacher then we do as a king. The words he left behind in the Books of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon show him as a preacher.
His work as a preacher affected more people for a longer time than his work as a king did.
We also influence more people by the words we speak than by the occupation of our lives.
What words then, flow out of your mouth?
By the way, I am currently preaching through the Book of Ecclesiastes. Go to the web site just below to hear the sermons and to download the notes.
