This Passage Smacks Me Every Time

Every time I know that when I read Romans 2, it will smack me upside the head. Haven’t I learned yet? Paul pierces my heart with a sword every time he says, “And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God?” (Romans 2:3).
In chapter 1, he listed sins worthy of death. I preach against all of them. However, does my righteous indignation free me to commit those sins? No, but I find myself doing them anyway.
Then Paul clobbers me with Romans 2:3. Should I preach against sin? Yes, sir. Does that endear God to me? Well, yes, unless I go on doing those things, thinking that I can get away with them.
The Bible cries to us from every page, Repent! So, do it.
